WV Land Records helps people find a useful starting point for property research in West Virginia. We organize county resources and explain how to approach common searches.

We do not operate county databases, issue records, or certify ownership. Official offices and their authorized search providers maintain the records linked from this website.
How we select resources
We look for county websites and search destinations linked by official offices. When we have not confirmed a direct land-records search link, we direct you to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s county clerk directory rather than guessing.
Keeping information useful
Access rules, fees, coverage dates, and website addresses can change. County pages show a source review date when a specific resource has been checked. A review date is not a guarantee that every document is available online.
If you notice a broken link or incorrect information, use our Contact page to let us know. Confirm document availability and current procedures with the office before making a payment or planning a visit.
