Monroe County — research proposal

Follow the county’s name-search instructions

Monroe County instructs users to enter the last name, add the first name if known, and press Enter. A blue Image link in the leftmost column opens a scanned document. The county says a missing blue Image link means that document has not been scanned.

Index coverage varies by instrument

The county describes deeds and powers of attorney as indexed back to the early 1950s. It describes deeds of trust, releases, assignments, fiduciary records, and other documents as indexed back to July 1, 1999.

The same page directs researchers checking documents before July 1, 1999 to the Record Room’s hardback indexes. Because that general direction overlaps its earlier deed coverage statement, confirm the route for your specific instrument rather than assuming all pre-1999 deeds require an in-person visit.

Images and printing

Printing requires a New Copy Account, created through New Account beside Log In. The reviewed page does not establish current charges or certification procedures. Confirm these with the clerk before paying.

If your result has no image

Keep the index reference and ask the office about obtaining the unscanned instrument. Broaden a name search and compare party names and property descriptions before accepting a result.
